A MOTHERS LOVE

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge

For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years:
No Charge

For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge

Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said,
"Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL".

Lessons:

· You will never know how much your parents worth till you become a parent

· Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot to give, besides money.

A Mother’s Love…

Indeed this instance says many things…

This reminds me of a poem I had read in my childhood and I am sure everyone would have had an opportunity to read it once …

It goes this way (in gujarati)…

“Bhulo bhale biju badhu Ma-Baap ne bhulsho nahi

Aganit chhe upkar ena ae kadi visarsho nahi”

Forget everything in life but never forget thy parents;

They owe you much more (innumerable obligations), never forget that in your life…

The children when they grow up and have their own family, they forget the love their parents have made to them or have for them.

Parents are the greatest gift for anyone from GOD.

We have already read and also would read in future --- the stories/ instances like this.

But, ultimately we all should introspect ourselves: what do we do for our parents?

We surely do have love for them but we need to know: whether knowingly or unknowingly aren’t we giving pain to their hearts?!!

We are from the land of Shravana who carried his parents in “kavad” (bamboo lath borne on the shoulder with slings at both ends for carrying pitchers) and took them for the pilgrimage.

At least we can please them by obeying them.

Finally, I would say that the happiness of thy parents is the greatest wealth for anyone.

Great story!!!

May I simply just say what a relief to discover an individual who actually understands what they are talking about on the net. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people need to look at this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised you're not more popular given that you surely have the gift.
